Introducing the Restrict Past Content add-on
Today we’re happy to announce the release of the Restrict Past Content add-on. This Professional add-on lets you set up subscription levels so that members can only view restricted content if it was published on or after their join date. Let’s take a look at how it works.
After activating the plugin, you’ll see some new options on the subscription level management screens. These new settings let you enable the past content restrictions, and optionally define an exception period. The exception period lets you make some content visible that published prior to the member’s join date. Let’s take a look at some screenshots.
In the screenshot above, the Restrict Past Content feature is enabled for the subscription level. There’s also a one-week exception period that lets members view any restricted content that was published within the week prior to their join date.
In addition to the subscription level settings, there’s also an option to exclude certain pieces of content from the restrictions entirely. This setting is found on the post edit screen where you create and edit content. To exclude a piece of content from the restrictions, edit the post, and check the option named Exclude from Past Content Restrictions.
Restrict Past Content is available today to all Professional and Ultimate license holders, and it can be downloaded from your account dashboard. Don’t have a Professional or Ultimate license?
