Restrict Content Pro’s 2022 Year in Review
This has been quite a year for Restrict Content Pro. This year alone, we helped our customers with more than 3369 support tickets and sent out 21 updates and releases.
While support and quality updates are always our priority, we’ve also changed up a bit of our look this year. We’ve also integrated with WordPress solutions to help you run a better membership site with a better member experience.
Let’s look at Restrict Content Pro’s 2022 year in review.
New Restrict Content Pro free version release
One of the first things we did in 2022 was to release a new and improved version of our free plugin. This new version of Restrict Content provided more powerful content restriction options and the ability to sell memberships with access levels. This new version of the free plugin provided users with everything they need to sell premium content in one easy-to-use plugin.
As a reminder, here’s what’s included with the free version of Restrict Content, versus features exclusive to the Pro version:

A Sleek New Look
You may have noticed one big change with Restrict Content Pro – our look! This year, we underwent a redesign of our website and logo. Since membership plugins can seem so administrative in the backend, the idea behind the redesign was to create a looseness with the illustrations to juxtapose the rigidity of backend tasks.
We loved using the R to represent our brand, so we updated our logo to be sleeker and bolder, with a hidden eye. We’ve accented the new website with bold blacks and purples against muted yellows and playful pinks and greens.
If you haven’t navigated to our homepage in a while, here’s a peek at the new look:
Behind the scenes, it’s still the same great plugin as before, just with a fresh exterior. We hope you love the new look of Restrict Content Pro as much as we do!
Restrict Content Pro Integrates with The Events Calendar
Customers have continued to submit requests for support with membership plugins and functionality. So this year, we developed a free extension that allows you to integrate Event Tickets Plus with Restrict Content Pro. The extension adds the ability to limit access to view or purchase tickets by membership level. You only need WooCommerce, Event Tickets Plus, and Restrict Content Pro installed to make this work.
Our friends over at The Events Calendar have a pretty stellar calendar/ticket solution for WordPress users. Between their calendar plugin and their ticket plugin, users can do just about anything event-related – even restrict tickets to members only!

Restrict Content Pro Integration with Kadence Blocks
Speaking of integrations, we also added a seamless integration this year between Restrict Content Pro and Kadence Blocks. With this new integration, you can restrict access to content contained within any WordPress block without using a shortcode using the powerful Row Layout block.
One of the best parts about Kadence Blocks is that all blocks have visibility controls, so you can hide block settings from certain user roles. With this new integration with the Restrict Content Pro plugin, visibility settings now include Restrict Content Pro Membership Levels and Access Levels.

A Ton of Upgrades, Additions, and Extensions
As we stated in the introduction, we’ve been working behind the scenes to keep providing a stable, robust, and up-to-date plugin for your membership site.
We’ve continued to bring support and updates to Restrict Content Pro (both the free and paid plugin) in 2022. Namely, we’ve made the following updates and improvements across our 21 releases and updates this year:
In Restrict Content:
- You can now use user member levels or roles in the [restrict] shortcode.
- We’ve updated the style of the membership page and changed the Membership Level to “Membership” in the exporting tools.
- We added an option to allow the user to switch between free subs.
- We’ve updated the styling of the registration form and button for desktop and mobile.
For Restrict Content Pro:
- We added the ability for your users to switch to a free membership.
- We added a Payment Descriptor option for Stripe users.
- We added a new Welcome Page for new installations.
- We now include Help Page sections in RCP Settings, instead of pointing to the knowledge site.
Our Roadmap is always open for new ideas and insights to help us keep bringing the best and most-established WordPress membership plugin to you. We’re excited to see what 2023 has in store and what new membership sites will be created!
