This week the spotlight shines on Academy of Fine Art and Acrylic Painting
A little about the Academy of Fine Art and Acrylic:
We heard from Jon Little and Ginger cook about what they are doing and where they are going with their website:
We have an online fine art and acrylic painting academy that offers several options for accessing our lessons. The lessons and website are a two-person operation, so I will explain how this ties together and how Restrict Content Pro has made this all possible.
We offer some of the finest lessons for learning to paint with acrylic paints and Personal Art Coaching from a Professional Artist. Our customers say the ease of access to the lessons and the variety of options we provide make us unique to the industry. We are also known for the personal attention we give our students.
Customer Thoughts:
Hi, Ginger!
I just wanted to tell you that your Personal Art Coaching videos are fantastic, and I really appreciate what you do. I guess I’ve been painting for around 3 yrs now, and there is no way that I would have been able to progress to the point that I have without your guidance, and I would never have been able to afford any other teacher. And even if I could have afforded it, I would never have found someone as fantastic as you! I am so grateful to have found you, and I hope that many more will, even though I hope your health won’t be adversely affected by too many students! YB
I absolutely love the new website https://www.acrylicpaintingwithgingercook.com/. It’s very organized and super easy to navigate, and it comes with a Great User Interface. Jon’s Photo Challenge and the new cropping Challenge are very useful for someone like me as a beginner. The efforts of Ginger and Jon behind the academy and YouTube tutorials are immeasurable. They make the learning process as easy as possible for all of us. I love the Ginger’s bloopers that Jon leaves at the end of the video for us. Thank you both, Jon and Ginger. JD
The perfect combination of learning and laughing topped off with lessons for every skill level and Personal Art Coaching makes even your best work better! CWB
The personal art coaching, the lessons for every skill level, always encouraging, and OH! the fun, fun, fun, and the laughter! MC
You are unique because of the personal attention and very prompt response to Academy members and YouTube followers. It is unsurpassed. Your whole outlook that everyone belongs to your Art family is most unique. MCCM
The fact that you both really care about us individually….we feel like family here! KCB
Behind the Curtain
Ginger has been a professional acrylic artist for over 50 years. She has been published worldwide and has been a teacher for the past 20+ years.
Ginger started some of the “paint party” stores in the Houston area many years ago. After realizing that it is tiring to keep repeating the same lessons day after day, she was introduced to Jon, and the two of them came up with the idea of teaching through the internet. With this business model, Ginger has been able to paint different subjects every day.
Jon has been involved with computers before the birth of the personal computer (PC). He has been a hardware technician and also a programmer. In his retirement years, he has focused on websites and art with his wife.
Jon has had many different jobs throughout his life but mainly involved with computers and programming for most of his adult life. He was involved with making a device that would monitor a trash compactor before the internet was a way to communicate. He has developed several specialized devices for this company he worked for at the time that was ahead of its time. But by today’s standards, they are pretty archaic.
When it comes to website experience, Jon is an expert, “But there is always something new to learn and try.”
We stand out because we put customer service first. Without the customer/members, we would not have a business. We do our very best to take care of our members in a timely fashion and with honesty.
How Restrict Content Pro Works For Us
I have been using the S2Member plugin when we first built the website many years ago. It worked “alright,” but it just wasn’t stable as far as the billing and termination go. I tried several others when I started looking for a replacement, and RCP came the closest to all of my requirements. RCP has several ways to produce the content, and this was a crucial element in my decision to go with RCP.
We offer ten different membership levels, and using them is very easy.
Where We Go From Here
We are putting the final touches on moving over another 400 lessons to the website, and then we need to finish our high-end tutorials for our more advanced members. With RCP, we will be able to offer many different memberships to keep our members always wanting more.
We a looking forward to happy members and a smoothly running website, thanks in part to RCP.
One of our goals is to offer education in a fun and friendly fashion where you don’t realize you are learning.
Our Advice:
Be honest with your customers/members. Be responsive and caring. Really listen to their questions or concerns. Please do your best to accommodate your members because without them, you have no business.
Now It’s Your Turn
When we learn from each other, then we are better positioned to build success. Jan and Ginger have found their way to make Restrict Content Pro benefit their business and their students. How will you make it work?
Will you share your RCP journey? We are still looking for websites to shine the spotlight on each Monday.
